Step by step International Watercolour Project
The project has existed for three years, and during this time, the competition has become a real brand and is recognized by watercolour artists all over the world.
The competition combines several essential facets of the contemporary art world. The first and most common is, of course, the opportunity to show the world your art. The second and no less important aspect of the project is the exchange of experience and skills. This part became available thanks to the watercolour festival, which is held in honour of the competition's awards ceremony every year. In 2019, the festival was held in Gdansk and became a kind of pearl of the project. Dozens of skill demonstrations, Masterclasses, unique works, and magnificent presentations, an exhibition of works by winners and watercolour masters from all over the world, Plein airs and excursions - all this made the festival one of the most successful projects of the year.
In 2020 and 2021, the festival was held online due to global changes that have affected the whole world. Despite this, the three-day watercolour festival was held at the highest level. The organizers gathered more than 50 online demonstrations from watercolour artists worldwide, and thousands of spectators from all over the world supported the new format of the festival.
And of course, the main unique facet of the project is that each artist sends not only a photo of the finished work to participate in the competition. According to the rules of the project, each participant must send at least five photos of the step-by-step execution his work with a description of materials and steps. This detail allowed the project to become unique, one of a kind.
